Identification of stereotypes in teen films

The popular girls in teen movies are often seen as wearing  expensive clothes to represent they are well liked or that they are rich. They are usually mean to everybody else and bitchy. They are enveied by all other girls. girls want to be them and boys want to be with them.

A geek is usually the subject to bullying. they are usually very smart and dont have good fashion sense. They are into things such as sci-fi and robot. They are physically smaller and more boney so cannot defend themselves against bullies. They are seen as outsiders.

A jock is part of the popluar group of teens but usual a boy. He is involved in most of the sporting teams and is physically very fit. He is also rich and well dressed and most of the time all of the girls fancy him. He would stereotypically be very sweet and romantic, the sweetheart of the movie.

A criminal is usually portrayed as sneaky. They were dark clothing so the blend into the crowd. They do not have good backgrounds and crime is all they know. They start off bad then usually end up being good people inside and by the end of the film they 'find the light'. They may be seen as dangerous characters.
