A teen film mainly revolves around teenagers and young adults so mainly from the age 15 and upwards. Teen films always have to do with the way teenagers live and their interests. Sometimes the transition of a teenager to an adult is shown in teen films through some of the characters maturing and making the right decisions instead of being influenced by their friends.

In the end of a teen film, there is always a positive outcome for example if it had to do with relationship issues the girl and boy always end up together, the bad girl/boy always get what they deserve, people become a better person.
When it comes to people who watch it's normally teens as they can sometimes relate through their lifestyle and friends, but then again adult and parents tend to watch it as well as they find it funny and actually enjoy it.
